JAKARTA - Member of Commission IX DPR RI Netty Prasetiyani Aher asked the Government to immediately address the problem of the layoff storm (Relationship) that has been going on lately in Indonesia. Do not let, he said, Indonesia's vision of Gold become 'Indonesia Is Anxious'.

Netty also reminded the government to move quickly to find solutions because the number of workers being laid off continues to increase.

"The government should not be calm, as if there is no problem. One of the factors that caused the collapse of the domestic textile and garment industry was not strong enough to compete with Chinese imported goods. Imports of goods from China must be monitored and tightened," said Netty Prasetiyani Aher, Thursday, September 5.

As is known, the textile, garment and footwear industry is the sector that mostly lays off. In addition to the reason for not being strong enough to compete with Chinese imported products, it is also due to a lack of demand that has led to a decline in production in the last three years.

For this reason, Netty assessed that the Government must make regulatory improvements considering that producers from China can sell products at cheaper prices due to subsidies and ease of regulations from their state governments.

"This means that there are regulations that are profitable (from the Chinese government). In addition, it should be suspected that there is an illegal practice of selling and importing entering Indonesia. We must check how the regulations are in Indonesia," explained the West Java VIII electoral district legislator.

Netty also asked the Government to investigate the supervision of imported products and eradicate the practice of selling illegal imports. "If this condition is allowed, of course, more and more domestic industries will fall and lay off their employees," said Netty.

Netty said that the neglect of the problem of layoffs will also have an impact on the future of the nation because the high unemployment rate can affect the community's economy.

"The number of layoffs will give birth to an anxious generation, instead of the golden generation," he said.
