Jokowi Asks For ASN Transfer To IKN Postponed, Here's The Reason

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) requested that the transfer of state civil servants (ASN) to the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) be postponed until all infrastructure is complete.

"Regarding the transfer of ASN to IKN, actually, this September several residences are ready for ASN to move gradually. However, the president's direction needs to be refined, the office, and the digital system," said Minister for Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) Abdullah Azwar Anas in his statement, Wednesday, September 4.

The reason, continued Azwar, Jokowi assessed that the transfer of ASN was not only a matter of changing offices, but a change in digital culture. Thus, the transfer of ASN is postponed until digital infrastructure is complete.

"September, this October, someone should have been able to move, but the president's directive was perfected first so that later there will be directions from the transfer. The Ministry of Administrative Affairs has prepared a transfer scheme, including the positions that will move," said Azwar.

So far, his party is still pocketing a scheme of 1,700 ASN people being moved for the first time. "We will update first how many apartments are completed. However, until the end of December, 47 towers are complete, this is only 14. This will continue to be updated by OIKN regarding the completion of the ASN apartment," he concluded.

While waiting for the infrastructure to be completed, Azwar said the incentives for moving ASN were still under discussion. "(Incentives) already, just finalize a little. There are numbers that have not been completed, not fixed. Expensive allowances, yes. Then transfer allowances, and others," he said.
