JAKARTA - Member of Commission I of the House of Representatives Dave Laksono said the discussion on the formation of the 4th dimension of the Indonesian National Army (TNI) by presenting the Cyber Force is likely to be passed (carry over) to the Indonesian House of Representatives for the next period.
"So maybe this is one of the jobs being rushed over to the next government," said Dave at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Antara, Tuesday, September 3.
Dave said that the session of the DPR RI for the 2019-2024 period was over, following the inauguration of members of the new period council on October 1, 2024.
"If the Cyber Force's budget is to be made, there must be one legal basis, there is a law, then there must also be clear firmness, and what kind of main task is it. Well, this is all that must really be finalized and we can't make this happen in an immediate time," he said.
He said that Commission I of the DPR on Monday had also held a meeting with the National Cyber Password Agency (BSSN). Where, BSSN expressed its support for the formation of the Cyber Force for the TNI.
"Yesterday we also had a meeting with BSNN, we discussed their budget, thank God the budget has improved from what used to be under half a 'T' (trillion), now there is more than one 'T' (trillion), but the budget must be adjusted to its function," he said.
Previously, Monday (2/9), the Head of BSSN Hinsa Siburian supported the formation of the fourth Cyber Force or dimension for the TNI.
"In principle, BSSN is the same, we support government policies," said Hinsa after holding a working meeting with Commission I of the DPR RI at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta.
He considered the discourse ideal because it was to answer the challenges that exist today. If you look at the international community, according to him, challenges in cyberspace have continued to develop so far.
He also did not mind if there was a discourse on the formation of a new dimension in the army, both of which were in charge of cyber affairs, but BSSN has so far not had any discussions with the DPR regarding this matter.
"The challenge continues to grow, we must be able to adapt to adapt to developments," said the retired TNI Lieutenant General.
