Pramono Anung is listed as a graduate student of the 1982 class ITB Mining Engineering. After receiving a bachelor's degree, Pramono Anung took a master's degree at Gadjah Mada University (UGM). He studied Master Management in 1990-1992.

The man who is now 61 years old is arguably not tired of studying. While serving as a member of the DPR, Pramono Anung also underwent a Doctoral program at Padjadjaran University. Pramono became a doctoral student of Communication Science Unpad class 2010 and successfully graduated on January 11, 2012.

Not many know that Pramono Anung has been involved in the business world before entering politics. He once held a strategic position as a director at PT. Tanito Harum (1988-166) and PT. Vietmindo Energitama (1979-1982). He has also been a commissioner at PT. Yudhistira Haka Perkasa (1996-1999).

Since 1998, Pramono joined the PDI-P. His career has creeped up in 2000 when he served as Deputy Secretary General of the PDIP DPP. In 2005, Pramono Anung was promoted to become Secretary General of PDIP. As Secretary General of PDIP, he is tasked with moving the party wheels to the regions.

Pramono was also elected as Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives in the 2009-2014 period, he was side by side with Marzuki Ali from the Democratic Faction.
