Today, Jokowi Opens The 2nd Multi-Party Partnership Forum And IAF In Bali

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo officially opened the Joint Leaders 'High Level Forum for Multi-Party Partnerships (HLP MSP) and the 2nd Indonesia-Africa Forum (IAF) 2024 in Bali, Monday, September 2, 2024.

"Your Excellency, I hereby declare that the Joint Leaders session of the 2nd Multi-Party Partnership Forum and the Indonesia-Africa Forum is opened," Jokowi said in his remarks at the 2nd HLF MSP and IAF events, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, September 2.

Joko Widodo welcomed and thanked all MSP HLF and IAF 2 delegates in Bali, Indonesia.

He stressed that all delegates present at the Indonesia-African 2nd Multi-Party Partnerships and Forum High Level Forum intend to create positive changes in the midst of a world full of challenges, both challenges related to economic slowdown, unemployment and inflation that have not improved or continued geopolitical tensions that have caused many casualties and disrupted the global supply chain.

But what is very unfortunate, said Jokowi, is that at times like this, international solidarity has actually decreased, the spirit of multilateralism is increasingly being ruled out and fragmentation is widening.

And in the end developing countries are the most affected. Millions of people in developing countries are the ones who feel the most difficulty, "said President Widodo.

In fact, said Jokowi, there are only six years left for the 2030 sustainable development target (SDGs) and only 17 percent of the SDGs target has been achieved.

That's why we need a new direction and vision. We need a new strategy. We need new tactical steps to realize fairer and more inclusive development for developing countries," he exclaimed in the forum.
