Circulating Again Draft Minister Prabowo-Gibran, Gerindra Makes Sure It's Not Official

JAKARTA - Back on social media, the draft composition of Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka's cabinet recently circulated. The daily chairman of the Gerindra Party, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, emphasized that the arrangement was not an official draft made by the Prabowo-Gibran team.

"I make sure that the draft will not become an official draft later than the Prabowo-Gibran cabinet," said Dasco after the Gerindra Party Rapimnas in Senayan, Jakarta, Saturday, August 31, 2024.

The drafts circulating contained a number of names, including Bahlil Lahadalia as Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad as Cabinet Secretary, Angga Prabowo as Minister of Communication and Information, and Tito Karnavian as Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs.

Dasco did not care about the emergence of wild drafts containing the composition of the cabinet. He made it the aspiration of the people.

"We consider the draft minister circulating to be part of the aspirations or dynamics," he said.

Dasco emphasized that Prabowo is still working on the names he will set in his cabinet with Gibran. Communication is also still ongoing with parties who are now joining his government coalition.

"So, for the cabinet, at this time because it is less than 30 days, the dynamics are still there. However, most of the names have been discussed. It's just that it can't be announced yet," said Dasco.

Meanwhile, in his speech at the close of the Gerindra Party Rapimnas, Prabowo admitted that he would attract some ministers in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet for his future government. He even asked President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) for direct permission.

"Sir, sorry sir, because you chose great people, some of them (will enter) my cabinet later," Prabowo said in front of President Jokowi.

Prabowo also said that he knew the tricks of these ministers. One of them, always precedes the President during visits to the regions because he doesn't want one plane.

"If Jokowi invites him, 'Allow me to go ahead, sir, I will pick you up later'. Not to pick you up, he is afraid to be invited," he said, greeted by laughter from the ministers who were present.
