Chairman Of The MPR RI Bamsoet Supports Prabowo Forms Of The Ministry Of Owned Public Housing

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly Bambang Soesatyo supports President Elect Prabowo Subianto's plan to form a separate Ministry of Public Housing from the Ministry of Public Works. This step is expected to focus on providing livable houses for the community and encouraging national economic growth. With this policy, the 8 percent economic growth target launched by Prabowo is not impossible.

The head of the Prabowo Housing Task Force, Hashim Djojohadikusumo, stated that the Prabowo administration plans to build 3 million housing units per year. In detail, 2 million housing units in rural areas by involving MSMEs and 1 million apartment units in urban areas by involving the business world. The development of the housing sector has contributed greatly to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and if maximized, it can contribute up to 20 percent of GDP.

Bamsoet suggested that the financing of this housing program could be done without burdening the community, for example through the use of BPJS Employment funds. According to the regulations, up to 30 percent of JHT funds of IDR 460 trillion can be used for the worker housing program. Another alternative is the establishment of endowment funds for people's housing by investing funds for Housing Financing Liquidity Facilities (FLPP) of IDR 25 trillion.

"We can realize 3 million housing units without burdening the community," said Bamsoet at the Future of Indonesia Dialogue event in Jakarta, Saturday, August 31. This event was attended by important figures, including Hashim Djojohadikusumo, Indonesian Investment Minister Rosan Roeslani, and Deputy Minister of SOEs RI Kartika Wirjoatmodjo.

Bamsoet emphasized the importance of an 8 percent economic growth target supported by Indonesia's per capita income, which is now close to $ 5,000, up from around US $ 1,000 two decades ago. He believes that, under Prabowo's leadership, strong political stability and partnerships between the government and the business world will continue to be maintained, as has happened in the era of President Joko Widodo.

"The sustainability of the Jokowi government to Prabowo will be the key to Indonesia's economic progress. This is important to improve competitiveness, improve regulations, and encourage the business world to create a healthy business ecosystem," said Bamsoet.

Bamsoet also reminded the business world to prepare itself for the Prabowo government, which is known to be firm and love the homeland. He emphasized the importance of the priority of the interests of the people in every business step.

Prabowo's flagship programs, such as 3 million housing units, Free Nutrition Food (MBG), mineral and food downstreaming, and infrastructure development are a reflection of his commitment to the people. Prabowo also targets the printing of 1 million hectares of rice fields to achieve food sovereignty. Bamsoet emphasized that the policies taken must be pro-people and reject policies that harm the community, such as overtaxes and imports that only benefit certain groups.
