Dico Ganinduto's Nomination File In Kendal Returned By KPU, Expert: Can Be Retested To Bawaslu

JAKARTA - Kendal Regent and Golkar Politician Dico Ganinduto are back in the 2024 Kendal Regent Election (Pilbup). Chaca Frederica's husband also made a surprising decision by using PKB as his political vehicle.

PKB nominated Dico Ganinduto as a candidate for Regent of Kendal in the last minutes before the closing of registration on Thursday, August 29, 2024 yesterday. However, B1 KWK PKB for the Kendal Regency Pilkada Dico Ganinduto was returned by the General Elections Commission (KPU) because it was initially issued to the Dyah Kartika Permana Sari-Benny Karnadi pair.

Political observer Herry Mendrofa believes that the KPU's decision can still be retested by the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu). "I think the KPU's decision to return the file can be retested, and the mechanism is in Bawaslu," Herry told reporters, Friday, August 30.

Herry also commented on Dico, who is a Golkar Party cadre, but was 'pinned' by PKB as a candidate for regional head in Kendal Regency. According to him, Dico, who is the incumbent in Kendal, is considered to be outstanding and has succeeded in improving the people's economy, is one of the main factors why it is being promoted again.

He considered that the potential for winning would be there, especially since many of his policies and programs were quite good while leading Kendal.

"In addition, there are age factors that are still fairly young, popular and represent alternative political forces. This means that this is another consideration," said Herry.

So according to him, of all these variables, of course, while leading Kendal, Dico has grassroots or mass bases that become electoral capital.

"This is what I think (PKB) can be used for victory (Dico in Kendal)," he said.

According to him, as the best young figure that Golkar has, Dico has a great opportunity in the 2024 Kendal Pilkada, because his ability and service as a bureaucrat has been tested as a public service.

In fact, he said that the joining of Dico Ganinduto to PKB proved the statement by the General Chairperson of Golkar Bahlil Lahadalia that good things must be targeted a lot, especially if they have high electability.

"Dico's political career does not only stop at Golkar, because he has many great opportunities that might be taken, especially since Dico is one of the young politicians who has achievements and experience as a regional head, of course, opportunities with other strategic positions can be achieved so that it becomes the target of other political parties. Because this is a good thing, said Bahlil Ketum Golkar," he said.

Meanwhile, Public Policy Observer Yanuar Wijanarko assessed that Dico's decision to re-nominate as Kendal Regent in the 2024 Pilkada was part of responding to public aspirations. "Some time ago, there was an encouragement from the public for Dico to return to lead Kendal, be it in the form of a petition to be crowded on social media. So I think Dico's decision answers the public's aspirations," said Yanuar.

He added that by choosing to return to become the Regent of Kendal, Dico Ganinduto was at least able to fulfill work programs and development that still needed to be continued to improve the welfare of the Kendal people. In fact, according to him, by joining PKB, it proves the political maturity of a Dico Ganinduto.

"Dico can continue the development program that still needs to be completed in order to improve the welfare of the Kendal community. In addition, by joining the PKB, Dico is felt as a mature figure in politics. It means that Dico listens more to the aspirations of the public", he said.

For information, in the Kendal Pilkada in 2024, Dico was paired with KH Ali Nurudin or familiarly called Ustadz Ali. Dico, who in the 2020 Pilkada previously rode the Golkar Party, this time used the National Awakening Party (PKB) vehicle.

This condition makes the political map in Kendal change. In fact, previously PKB had agreed to form a coalition with the PDI-P to carry the heads of Dyah Kartika Permana Sari and Benny Karnadi.

"Alhamdulillah, we have delivered files to support Pak Dico and Ustadz Ali," said Kendal PKB DPC Chairman Muhammad Makmun.

"This is the task of the Kendal PKB because in the Legislative Election yesterday it was the winning party. And in the Pilkada it was very much called to show the best cadres who could improve and fight for and prosper the people in Kendal Regency," he continued.
