Poland Sets The Highest Record Of COVID-19 Cases Since Old Winter

JAKARTA - Nearly 2.000 new cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in Poland in the past 24 hours, which is the highest record since last winter, broadcaster RMF FM reported, citing official data.

Four coronavirus patients died in the past 24 hours, the report added.

Reported by ANTARA from Sputnik, Tuesday, August 28, the increase in the number of cases was caused by the holiday period, where active people traveled at home and abroad, as well as the high transmission rate of the new variant of the coronavirus, the broadcaster reported.

Meanwhile, there have been more serious cases among coronavirus patients in recent days, with some patients requiring oxygen therapy, the report added.

Poland has recorded more than 6.5 million cases of COVID-19 since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, and nearly 120,000 people have died, according to official statistics.
