BERLIN - German authorities on Saturday (24/8) said they were still trying to determine the motive for a stabbing attack by a man at a music festival in Solingen City. The provisional suspicion is still related to terrorism.

Senior Prosecutor Markusellis said the stabbing attack by a man had killed three people and injured eight others. Unfortunately, the perpetrator in the stabbing attack has not been identified.

"We have not been able to identify the motive, but based on the whole situation, we assume that an initial allegation of terrorist-motivated actions cannot be ruled out," he added as reported by VOI from Anodalu, Sunday, August 25.

Police also confirmed that two men and one woman were killed in the attack. Both male victims were reported to be 67 and 56 years old, and a 56-year-old woman.

In addition, eight other people were injured, four of whom were seriously injured. They also said that it was a "very directed" attack on the necks of those people.

Perpetrators attacked people randomly with knives during live music performances on Friday night, police spokesman Alexander Kresta told reporters.

"Currently we assume that only one person is involved," he said, adding that officers were interviewing witnesses and gathering information to identify suspects.

The police have asked the public to be careful in the city center of Solingen because the perpetrators are still on the loose.
