JAKARTA - The Ukrainian Navy confirmed it destroyed a ferry at the port of Kakkaz, Russia, which was used to deliver fuel and weapons to the occupied Crimea region.

Local authorities previously said the ferry was burned and damaged in an attack on Thursday, August 22, at a port in Russia's southern Krasnodar region.

The ferry sank and the port of Kakkaz could not be used until the ferry was removed, Navy spokesman Dmytro Pletenchuk told Ukrainian television.

The ferry was carrying 30 fuel tanks. Kyiv's latest attack had a major impact.
