Gerindra Doesn't Matter PDIP Carrying Anies In The Jakarta Gubernatorial Election

JAKARTA - The Gerindra Party does not have a problem if PDIP later carries Anies Baswedan as a candidate for governor of the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada.

"Yes, it's called democracy, contestation in the regional elections, okay," said the Daily Chair of Gerindra, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, Friday, August 23.

Gerindra stated that Ridwan Kamil, supported by 12 political parties, is ready to fight in the upcoming Jakarta gubernatorial election. Including against PDIP rather than an empty box.

"Look, when fighting the empty box, the conditions are 50+1 higher, if there are 3 candidates, the requirements are not too heavy, so we are really ready," said Dasco.

Previously, the Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto said the opportunity to carry Anies Baswedan in the Jakarta gubernatorial election would be determined by the aspirations of the people.

This was conveyed after the Constitutional Court (MK) granted a request for part of the case lawsuit Number 60/PUU-XXII/2024.

"Yes, we will see the aspirations of the people. (Because of the Constitutional Court's decision, ed) this is a decision that gives fresh air," Hasto told reporters at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, August 20.

"So we immediately had a dialogue to see how the people hope," he continued.
