Update On COVID-19 As Of March 26: 4,982 New Cases, Healing Up 5,679

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 71,559 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 4,982 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 1,487,541 people and 124,497 active cases," the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Friday, March 26.

Today's cases recovered increased by 5,679 cases, so that a total of 1,322,878 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 85 people and a total of 40,166 people.

The province with the most new cases was in DKI Jakarta with 1,381 cases and a total of 376,868 cases. Followed by West Java, which has 855 new cases with a total of 245,776 cases. East Java has 262 new cases and a total of 138,174 cases. Then, Central Java has 262 new cases and a total of 167,035 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to West Java with an increase of 1,495 recovered cases. Followed by East Kalimantan with an additional 632 recovered cases, DKI Jakarta with an additional 615 recovered cases, and Central Java with an additional 546 recovered cases.

There is one province that reported no new cases as of today. The province that reported zero new cases is North Maluku.

In addition, the number of specimens that had been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigen reached 12,401,797.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 20.13 percent," he wrote.

For the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 52,528 people. Currently, 510 districts / cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.

Furthermore, currently there are 6,969,201 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 3,148,611 vaccines for the second dose. Meanwhile, the total vaccination targets reached 40,349,051 people.
