PDIP Prepares Tri Rismaharini To Fight Khofifah In The 2024 East Java Regional Election

The East Java PDIP DPD (East Java) has prepared two names for the future governor of East Java who will fight the incumbent Khofifah Indar Parawansa, namely Tri Rismaharini and Abdullah Azwar Anas.

Even so, Deputy Chairperson of the East Java PDIP DPD Budi Sulistiono revealed that of the two names, the most potential to advance was Tri Rismaharini.

Meanwhile, his deputy is still waiting for consolidation with other parties such as PKB, because PDIP cannot propose the name of the candidate and his deputy from PDIP itself.

In this case, the East Java PDIP DPD is still waiting for the PDIP DPP decision and waiting for the results of the consolidation of other parties to determine the deputy governor candidate later.

"There are two possible names that will be proposed, Risma or Azwar Anas. The most likely is Risma. For candidates for representatives from outside the PDIP, they are still waiting for consolidation with other parties," said Budi Sulistiyono, Thursday, August 22.

Budi Sulistiyono admitted that he did not rule out the possibility that the PDIP DPP decision would be able to choose the incumbent Khofifah Indar Parawansa as a candidate for head of the East Java region, but all of this still needed a special meeting from the East Java PDIP DPD and PDIP DPP levels.

Meanwhile, in the 2024 East Java DPRD Legislative Election, PDIP won 21 seats. Meanwhile, PKB won more seats than PDIP with 27 seats. PKB also won in eight electoral districts of the East Java DPRD, while PDIP won in four electoral districts.
