Thousands Of Palestinians Evacuate Again When Israel Orders Evacuation

JAKARTA - Thousands of displaced Palestinian civilians began to flee their area in eastern Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip after a new evacuation order from Israel, according to eyewitnesses.

The region was previously designated a "safe zone" for civilians, but Israeli soldiers ordered residents to leave the area ahead of new military operations to be carried out there.

Israeli military spokesman IDFavichay Adraee said several neighborhoods in Deir al-Balah are now considered dangerous combat zones. Adraee asked residents to move west before the upcoming attacks on the area.

The warning forced thousands of civilians to flee on foot, carrying small bags and some basic necessities such as blankets, beddings, and a little food, according to eyewitnesses.

Last week, the UN Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) said Israel had reduced the so-called "humanitarian zone" in Gaza to only 11 percent of the region, which caused widespread panic and fear among refugees.

According to Gaza's state media office, two million people in Gaza were displaced by Israeli attacks that continued in the region.

Israel continues to carry out brutal attacks on the Gaza Strip following the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, despite UN Security Council resolutions calling for an immediate ceasefire.

As reported by ANTARA from Anadolu, Wednesday, August 21, this attack has resulted in more than 40,200 Palestinian deaths, mostly women and children, and nearly 93,000 people injured, according to local health authorities.

Gaza's ongoing blockade has caused food shortages, clean water, and medicines, so that most of the region is destroyed.

Israel faces allegations of genocide at the International Court, which has ordered a halt to military operations in the southern city of Rafah, where more than one million Palestinians seek refuge before the territory is invaded on May 6.
