JAKARTA - The General Chairperson of Golkar, Bahlil Lahadalia, brought up the competition again when he wanted to become the general chairman of the work hasta organization, the Indonesian Renewal Youth Force (AMPI). At that time, Bahlil lost to Dave during the 2010 AMPI Ketum election.

Initially, Bahlil greeted Dave who was present at the XI National Conference with the agenda of determining the Golkar Ketum for the 2024-2029 period. He considered Dave lucky to win because his father was a Golkar official, while he was only a young man who came from the regions.

"What I respect is the chairman of the Golkar party's hasta mass organization, which I once wanted to become a candidate for chairman of one of the work's hasta organizations, then I failed because at that time Dave was the winner at AMPI," said Bahlil during a speech delivering his vision and mission at JCC, Jakarta, Wednesday, August 21.

"Where is Dave? Maybe because I learned from the data, when I lost in AMPI in 2010 I was still the treasurer of Golkar Papua. I came to the National Conference, Dave happened to be lucky because his father was the founder and deputy chairman of Golkar, m. Bahlil revealed that his defeat in the election of the AMPI Ketum made him study and struggle to be able to sit in the chair of the party leader based on Jalan Anggrek Neli Murni, Slipi, West Jakarta.

"At that time Dave, my friend was a great person, and he was elected general chairman through a very healthy competition process. Since then I consider him to be my great friend and we should be exampled. The lesson reminded me 14 years ago as a Golkar Party cadre who has the doctrine of struggle. It turns out that the lesson was never erased in my mind," he said.

"I know very well and I'm starting to emphasize my belief. I lost in AMPI, but one day I will return to Slipi to lead the Golkar Party," he added.

The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources also said that the leadership of the Golkar Party could not be separated from the government. So according to him, being close to the government is an advantage.

"Indeed, there is an effective collaboration process with the government because in the past, if Dave was not supported by the seven governors, he would not necessarily be the chairman of the AMPI. So don't blame me if then I try to take the government's hearts around that," said Bahlil.

Bahlil assessed that his leadership in the future would not use old knowledge to be able to take a change for Golkar.

"So if I can process it tomorrow, I'll try to have a little new research, don't study it for a long time, because some of the processed sciences I created. So if Mr. Dave tomorrow we start talking, creatively a little to make preparations," said Bahlil.

Bahlil then joked about going back and forth from leadership. In the past, he was Dave's subordinate in AMPI. But now Dave is his subordinate in the Golkar Party.

"Dave, sorry, yes, only you can be the one I can imitate because you used to be my general chairman, in the past, right, but now I'm the general chairman. Don't worry," he concluded.
