Jokowi Confirmed To Be Present To Close Golkar National Conference Tonight

JAKARTA - The Golkar Party's XI National Conference (Munas) at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Senayan will close on Wednesday (21/8/2024) tonight. Golkar ensured that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) would attend the closing of the National Conference.

"According to schedule, at 19.00 WIB. Yes confirmed (Jokowi is present)," said Head of the Golkar Party's XI National Conference, Adies Kadir, in Jakarta, Wednesday, August 21.

Not only President Jokowi, Adies welcomed the general chairman of the Gerindra Party as well as the elected president Prabowo Subianto to attend the closing of the Golkar National Conference. "President Jokowi attended, Prabowo was elected president," he said.

However, Adies has not been able to confirm the presence of former Golkar chairman Airlangga Hartarto and senior Golkar politician Jusuf Kalla. "Pak Airlangga was invited, Mr. Jusuf Kalla was invited. What is certain is that the president is present, the chairman of the political party as well," he explained.

It is known that the second day of the Golkar National Conference XI has the main agenda of determining Bahlil Lahadalia as chairman of the Golkar Party for the period 2024-2029. Bahlil is the sole candidate after the other prospective general chairman of Golkar, Ridwan Hisjam, does not meet the nomination requirements.

Previously, Adies explained that all voters at the Golkar National Conference consisting of DPD I, DPD II, the founding organization and established, to wing organizations, fully support Bahlil to become the new chairman of the party bearing the banyan tree.
