PDIP Prepares 3 Names For Candidates For Governor Of Central Java

SLEMAN - PDIP has prepared three names for the candidate for governor of Central Java which will be carried out in the upcoming 2024 Central Java Governor and Deputy Governor Election (Pilgub).

There are three candidates who are currently undergoing the party's internal selection process before it is decided who will run as a candidate for governor.

PDIP DPP chairman Ganjar Pranowo explained that his party was in the process of recruiting and selecting to determine the most appropriate candidate.

"We just have to walk, all candidates are now in the process. We have a recruitment process inside, and now there is a selection process inside. The recruitment has been done, the candidates are in. The next process is now being assessed one by one," said Ganjar last Tuesday.

Ganjar revealed that the three candidates who were being selected were former mayor of Semarang, Hendrar Prihadi, senior PDIP Central Java politician Rukma Setyabudi, and former TNI commander Andika Perkasa. All three are seen as having the capability and experience to lead Central Java.

"Yesterday there was the name Mas Hendi (Hendrar Prihadi) who had registered, there was the name Mas Rukma (Rukma Setyabudi), there was Mr. Andika (Andika Perkasa), only this selection process was carried out," explained Ganjar.

With his political dominance in Central Java, PDIP has great strength to propose a candidate pair for governor and deputy governor without a coalition, considering that this party has 33 seats in the provincial DPRD.
