Ministry Of Health Follows Up On The Results Of The Bullying Case Investigation At Undip Leads To Suicide PPDS Doctor

Deputy Health Minister Dante Saksono Harbuwono said his party would follow up on the results of the investigation into the alleged bullying at Diponegoro University which resulted in the suicide of a student of the Specialist Doctors Education Program (PPDS).

Dante emphasized that not only at Diponegoro University, the Ministry of Health will also follow up on cases of bullying at all medical faculties in all vertical hospitals that are the education provider hospitals.

"As previously, Mr. Melki (Vice Chairman of Commission IX of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Emanuel Melkiades Laka Lena) has said that this culture (contraction) is not a good culture. Doctors are a noble profession, they should be clean-hearted and this starts when they do education," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, August 19.

According to him, good character in doctors began to be instilled from the time they studied undergraduate, and had to be continued after that level of education.

It was previously reported that a student of the Specialist Doctors Education Program of the Faculty of Medicine, Undip Semarang, was found dead in her boarding house, allegedly committing suicide.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Semarang Polrestabes Kompol Andika Dharma Sena said, according to information gathered, the victim died from an injection of drugs into his body. Andika added that the victim allegedly ended his life due to being a victim of bullying while undergoing education.

Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said some evidence of the alleged suicide of the PPDS participants had also been found, according to his daily records.

"We have found, there is daily evidence. So, we can see what kind of mental moral development he is in, also quite in detail written in his daily book. So, we will confirm later whether this really happened. If this really happened, we will make sure those who treat it like this will be given strict sanctions," said Budi.

In addition to collaborating with the National Police, his party requested that the PPDS Anesthesi Undip activity at the Kariadi Hospital be evaluated. He also emphasized that there should be no practice of bullying on the grounds of creating a strong and not cryy power.
