Case Of Woman's Body In Suitcase In Pangkep, Male Drunk Rape And Steal Victim's Money

JAKARTA - The South Sulawesi Regional Police (Polda) revealed the mystery of the death of a middle-aged woman known to have the initials RML (46) whose body was stored in a suitcase by the perpetrator with the initials AND (37) after being found on Jalan Pelelangan, Pangkajene District, Pangkajene Islands Regency (Pangkep) South Sulawesi.

"The suspect was successfully secured to coincide with Independence Day on August 17, 2024. The exact location is in the Pasir Regency area, Penajam Utara, East Kalimantan," said South Sulawesi Police Chief Inspector General Andi Rian R Djajadi accompanied by the Pangkep Police Chief at the South Sulawesi Police Headquarters, Makassar, reported by ANTARA, Monday, August 19.

He said the perpetrator was a curanmor recidivist with four criminal cases arrested by a joint team from the South Sulawesi Regional Police Jatanras and Jatanras Pangkep Police.

The motive for the sadistic murder was carried out by the perpetrator against the victim because he wanted to control property and was eager to have sex with her.

From the results of the interrogation, he said, it occurred on Saturday (10/8/2024) at around 02.00 WITA. The perpetrator was drunk and planned a robbery at the victim's house who lived alone because his house was close to only two meters.

"I saw this as a result of being influenced by alcohol. So, before doing what he did, this suspect had gathered and drank until he was drunk. Then he went home, not to his house, but jumped to his neighbor's house," said the Kapolda.

When he entered the house, the victim was fast asleep. After taking money and cell phones, another evil intention emerged, namely having sex with the victim.

However, said the Kapolda, when he was about to carry out his depraved actions, the victim woke up, realized and struggled and then screamed.

The perpetrator strangled and pressed the victim's face by holding him with a pillow. After unconscious then raped him.

After raping the victim, when he was about to run away, he saw the victim regained consciousness, then approached the victim by hugging him while beating him until he was unconscious.

Seeing the victim not moving, the suspect returned to his house and asked his wife where the suitcase was. He reasoned that his friend wanted to use it.

After that, the suspect returned to the victim's house allegedly dead, then put him in a large suitcase.

The plan, said the Kapolda, was that the perpetrator wanted to throw the suitcase in the rice fields, but because it was heavy, he only threw it in the alley around the rented house, then took more than Rp1 million and the victim's motorbike fled to Makassar City.

But on the way, the motorbike driven by the father of five children broke down in Maros Regency. Then took him to his colleague's workshop and admitted that he wanted to sell the motorbike. This motorbike was bought by his colleague with the initials RSD worth Rp. 1.3 million.

The money was used by the suspect to the Port of Soekarno-Hatta Makassar, then bought a ticket for the ship bound for Makassar-Balikpapan and on Monday (12/8/2024) arrived at Semaman Harbor, Balikpapan City, East Kalimantan.

"So the three criminal series are the ones committed by the suspect, (robbering, raping and killing). This suspect is threatened with 20 years in prison or life imprisonment," said Andi Rian.
