Four Foreigners From China Become Suspects In The Beating Case At PSN KIPI

TANJUNG SELOR - Four foreign nationals (WNA) from China have been named suspects by the Criminal Investigation Unit (Sat Reskrim) of the Bulungan Police, North Kalimantan (Kaltara).

The four foreigners who are also foreign workers at the KIPI Tanah Kuning-Mangkupadi Tanjung Palas Timur strategic project site, Bulungan, with the initials ZK, LKU, LKI, and ZP are now being held at the Bulungan Police detention center.

Bulungan Police Chief Kombes Agus Nugraha through the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Bulungan Police, Kompol Belnas Pali Padang, said the 4 foreigners were suspected of beating the victim Wei Yang (52) who was also from China.

"Previously, the suspects had undergone examination by personnel from the Tanjung Palas Timur Police, before being transferred to the Polresta," said Belnas, Wednesday, August 14.

"From the results of the examination of the perpetrators and victims, the witnesses and evidence in the field have fulfilled the elements to determine the perpetrators as suspects," added Belnas.

Peengroyokan terhadap Wei Yang terjadi di lokasi KIPI pada Kamis, 8 Agustus 2024 sekitar pukul 17.30 Wita.

The incident occurred in front of the gates of the MCC 20 New Village, Mangkupa Village, Tanjung Palas Timur District, Bulungan.

"The perpetrators are suspected of Article 170 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code, concerning beatings. With a penalty of 5 years and six months in prison," he said.

The case of the beating was revealed after the victim accompanied by his legal advisor reported to the police.

"This case started with a debt problem. Where, at that time, the victim collected the company's debt from the perpetrator," he said.
