The joint SAR team found three victims of the Lalan bridge, Musi Banyuasin (Muba), South Sumatra who collapsed, because they were hit by a coal-carrying ponton on Monday at around 21:30 WIB, in a lifeless condition. "Three of the five victims of the collapsed Lalan bridge were found by a joint team early this morning in a dead condition, namely Kusdio at around 00:30 WIB, Hendra at around 01:40 WIB, and M Alansyah at around 02:15 WIB," said Head of the Palembang SAR Office Raymond Konstantin quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 14. He said Kusdio was found floating dead at a radius of 500 from the initial location. Then, Hendra was found floating at a radius of one kilometer from the bridge site and was already lifeless, and M Alansyah was also found to have floated about 250 meters from the bridge. He said the victims had been evacuated and immediately handed over to their respective families for the funeral process. "Currently, two more victims are still being carried out," he said. He added that in the search process, the Palembang SAR office coordinated the entire joint SAR element consisting of TNI AL, Polairud, Sungai Lalan Police, Sulan River Koramil, Muba Dishub, Muba BPBD, as well as the community. In addition, he also carried out the distribution of SRU (SAR Unit) and mapping the search area for each of the SRU. Previously, the Lalan bridge in Sukajadi Village P6, Lalan District was hit by a coal ponton, so that it collapsed. From this incident, it was reported that five people were missing, seven people suffered minor injuries, and one person was seriously injured. Meanwhile, the South Sumatra Regional Police apparatus investigated the cause of the Lalan Bridge, Musi Banyuasin which collapsed, due to being hit by a coal-carrying ponton.

"Yes, last night at around 21:30 WIB, the incident occurred at a bridge in Sukajadi Village P6, Lalan District was hit by a coal pontoon, causing it to collapse. For the reason why it hit, we are still investigating it," said Head of Public Relations of the South Sumatra Police, Kombes Pol. Sunarto Ponton. The non-submerged coal has also been secured for investigation of the case.
