Investigating Corruption Abdul Gani Kasuba, The KPK Reminds The Chairman Of The North Maluku DPRD To Be Cooperative In Responding To Today's Call

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) reminded the chairman of the North Maluku DPRD, Kuntu Daud, to fulfill the summons of investigators as a witness to alleged corruption and money laundering of former North Maluku Governor Abdul Gani Kasuba today, Monday, July 12. He was reminded to cooperate because the investigation had been delayed from his previous schedule.

"Yes, we hope that the person concerned comes without any significant obstacles," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika to reporters quoted Monday, August 12.

It is known, Kuntu should have been questioned by investigators on Wednesday, August 7. It's just that he was not present so that investigators rescheduled.

Tessa said Kuntu would be examined around 10:00 WIB. So, he is expected to be present before the specified hour.

The KPK has named the inactive North Maluku Governor Abdul Gani Kasuba as a suspect in the alleged crime of money laundering (TPPU). The value is said to have reached Rp. 100 billion.

The determination of this suspect was carried out as the development of the alleged bribery of goods and services procurement projects as well as the granting of permits within the North Maluku Provincial Government. He has been detained along with five other suspects since December 20 after being caught in a hand arrest operation (OTT).

In addition, the KPK named Abdul Gani Kasuba's confidant, Muhaimin Syarif, who is the former chairman of the North Maluku Gerindra Party DPD as a suspect.

He is suspected of bribing former North Maluku Governor Abdul Gani Kasuba in the amount of Rp. 7 billion for the management of the Production Operation IUP to the proposal for the determination of the mining business permit area (WIUP) to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

Then this gift is also related to projects within the North Maluku Provincial Government. The bribe was given by Muhaimin Syarif directly to Abdul Gani or through aides and through banking transactions.
