Eros Djarot Said, Airlangga Hartarto's Resignation Was A Golkar Party Coup

JAKARTA - Politician and cultural observer Soegeng Rahardjo Djarot alias Eros Djarot assessed that Airlangga Hartarto's resignation from his position as General Chair (Ketum) of the Golkar Party DPP could be termed the Golkar coup.

According to him, it should be noted that there are efforts by someone who wants to become the chairman of the Golkar Party, but does not follow the provisions of the party's articles of association and household (AD/ART) so that they try to use other methods.

"I think if there is a term Golkar coup, if there is a term like that it doesn't feel wrong either," said Eros when met after the launch of the biography of members of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the 1987 '1997 Palar Batubara period entitled 75 Years Bang Palar Batubara, Sang Patriot's Soul in South Jakarta, Sunday.

Eros assessed that Airlangga's resignation from the party leadership chair bearing the banyan tree was mysterious so that he could not refuse to raise questions, including what was the political design after Airlangga withdrew.

"If you say it sincerely (resign), how come it can't be read, if you step down regarding considerations that are about saving the country, how come it doesn't seem like the reason is too strong. So why?" he told Antara.

He admitted that he was surprised and regretted the withdrawal of Airlangga as chairman of the Golkar Party.

"Golkar yang sebenarnya partai yang cukup mengar lama, kok mudah itu rontok atau dipeteli seperti ini," ucapnya.
