Anton Charliyan Condemns Violence Against NU Banser Members In Karawang

JAKARTA The former West Java Police Chief who is now the Chairman of the Central PWI Advisory Council, Anton Charliyan, condemned the incident of violence against members of the NU Banser in Karawang, Saturday night, August 10, 2024.

The violent incident occurred when Kyai Mugi's entourage, escorted by the NU Banser, was about to attend Abah Junaedi Al Bagdadi's invitation in the haul of Syeh Abdul Qodir Jaelani in Karawang, West Java.

The figure who is usually called Ceng Mujib is also the leader of the Al Fauzan Garut Islamic Boarding School and the Grand Imam of the Garut Grand Mosque, regrets and condemns the violent incident in Karawang. In addition to wanting to attend the haul, Ceng Mujib also plans to inaugurate the Indonesian Walisongo Struggle Secretariat Laskar Sabillah (PWI LS) Karawang Branch.

The former West Java Police Chief who is also the Chairman of the Advisory Council of the Central Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI), Anton Charliyan also condemned the incident of violence on behalf of the religion.

"Strict stance is needed from law enforcement officials and all of us. Acts of radicalism, intolerance accompanied by violence should not occur in a Pancasilaist Indonesian Earth. Especially if it is on behalf of a religious group that should be rahmatul il alamin. We should fight it to the end, to the roots," said Anton.
