Russian Missile Attack Kills 10 People In Ukrainian Supermarket, President Zelenskiy Murka

JAKARTA - A Russian missile attack hit a supermarket in the city of Kostitynivka, Ukraine, in the frontline region of Donetsk. The latest data on the death toll was 10 people and 35 others were injured.

Thick black smoke rising from destroyed buildings can be seen in images and videos uploaded by Ukrainian officials.

Russia's terrorists attacked ordinary supermarkets and post offices. There are a lot of people under the rubble, "said President Volodymyr Zelenskiy on X.

Emergency service teams continue to dig up debris to search for survivors.

Regional Governor Vadym Filashkin initially said Russia used artillery but later said the attack used the X-38 air-to-surface missile.

Nova Postah, Ukraine's largest private postal company, said its cargo office in the supermarket was damaged by the strike.

"All of our employees are still alive. One of his colleagues suffered a concussion he got all the help he needed," the company said in X.

Houses, shops and more than a dozen cars were also damaged in the attack.

Kostitynivka is located only about 13 kilometers from active combat lines in eastern Ukraine, parts of Kyiv's Donetsk region are often targeted by Russian airstrikes and shootings.

The region is one of the hottest fighting areas as Russia targets territory leading to a strategic logistics center in the east, Pokrovsk.

Elsewhere, Russia this week accused Ukraine of carrying out cross-border attacks on Russia's Kursk region. The Kyiv military has not commented on the operation.
