Students Report Cak Imin To KPK Regarding Hajj Implementation

JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin was reported to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) today. Cak Imin was reported on suspicion of abusing his position and authority while serving as the DPR's Hajj Supervisory Team.

This report was conveyed by a number of students who are members of the People's Care Student Movement (Gembat) at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday, August 9.

"Muhaimin is suspected of using his position and authority as Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives and Chair of the 2024 DPR RI Hajj Supervisory Team by including his wife, Sister Rustini as part of the 2024 DPR RI Hajj Supervisory Team," said the coordinator of the Gempur action, Karim Tjendra after reporting.

Karim and his colleagues showed evidence of receipts of reports related to the alleged abuse of Cak Imin's authority as the DPR's Hajj Team. One of the highlights is because the PKB General Chair brought his wife, Rustini.

"(We, ed) support the KPK to arrest Muhaimin Iskandar if sister Rustini's participation as the 2024 DPR RI Hajj Supervisory Team is proven to be the abuse of her position and authority by Brother Muhaimin Iskandar as the Chair of the 2024 DPR RI Hajj Supervisory Team and causing state losses," he said.

Gempur stated that he was waiting for the KPK's follow-up. They hope that the report will be processed.

Previously reported, Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives Muhaimin Iskandar had also been reported to the KPK by the Law Enforcement Student Movement (GMPH) regarding allegations of abuse of authority related to the implementation of the Hajj. He allegedly invited his wife, Rustini Murtadho, to the 2024 Hajj Supervisory Team (Timwas) group.

"This is clearly a serious violation committed by Cak Imin. The KPK and the Attorney General's Office (AGO) must intervene to investigate this alleged irregularity immediately," said GMPH Coordinator Amri Loklomin to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, July 29.
