JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) appreciated the gold acquisition achieved by rock climbing athlete Veddriq Leonardo and weightlifter Rizky Juniansyah in the 2024 Paris Olympics. Jokowi ensured that the government would provide bonuses. Jokowi said he was happy with the achievements of the two proud Indonesian athletes. "As head of state, Jokowi said, the state appreciates the achievements achieved by Veddriq and Rizky. This achievement also brings pride to the Indonesian people. "I think the state appreciates, the people are also very proud of the gold achievement," he said. Even though the discussion has not been carried out, Jokowi ensured that the government will give bonuses to the athletes who managed to win gold and create a new history for Indonesia. "Yes, I also just found out this morning, so it will be discussed later, what is clear there will be a bonus," he said.

It is known, Indonesia rose to position 28 in the standings for the 2024 Paris Olympics medals. This result was obtained after Rizki Juniansyah contributed a gold medal in the weightlifting branch in the men's 73 kilograms number. Previously, the women's singles badminton Gregoria Mariska Tunjung contributed a bronze medal. The Indonesian team only got the gold medal from the rock climbing branch of the speed number through Veddriq Leonardo.
