JAKARTA - The police arrested a man who owns a boarding house in Gunungpati, Semarang City, Central Java (Central Java) eating cat meat.

Gunungpati Police Chief Kompol Agung Raharjo said the grandfather with the initials NY (63) had been secured for questioning.

"From the verbal clarification, the person concerned admitted to eating cat meat," he said in Semarang, Wednesday, August 7, which was confiscated by Antara.

From the perpetrator's statement, he continued, the cat meat was believed to be able to treat diabetes he suffered.

Apart from NY, the police also asked for information from three boarding house residents who were suspected of knowing the perpetrator's actions.

From the results of the examination, continued Agung, officers secured a number of evidences such as a rice pan, a sickle, and pieces of bones that were suspected of being from a cat that was slaughtered by the perpetrator.

Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations of the Central Java Police, Kombes Pol. Artanto said that the Semarang Polrestabes had responded and handled the case.

"We are waiting for the progress of the handling, including the alleged mental condition of the perpetrator," said Artanto.
