JAKARTA - The Central Halmahera Police (Halteng), North Maluku, acted quickly by deploying identification members as well as members of the Mobile Brigade to trace the sadistic murder location on the Gowenly River. Three residents were killed in this incident.

Central Halmahera Police Chief, AKBP Nico A Setiawan said the Halteng Police identification team was already in Patani to identify the identities of the three victims who died.

He appealed to residents to submit this case to the authorities. "Leave it to us to investigate and investigate in the field," explained the Police Chief when contacted, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, March 24.

The murder case began when Martawan (45), a resident of North Patani, and six people departed from Tepeleo Village towards the junction of the road to km 05 Masure Village, Patani Timur District, Central Halmahera Regency, last Saturday, March 20.

"When we arrived at the T-junction of Masure Village, Patani Timur Subdistrict, four friends and I waited at the fork in the road and there was an attack on them while in the forest," said Martawan.

The motive behind the murder has not been confirmed. At around 14.30 WIT, joint TNI-Polri officers and the community came to the location and found the 3 bodies.

Anto and Ucu's bodies were found at the same location, while Risno's body was 12 km from the place. Furthermore, the three bodies in an unrecognized condition were moved in turn.

Kapolres added, the number of Brimob personnel at the location was around 10 people. Coordination with the Regional Secretary of Central Halmahera, Yanto M Asri is also being carried out.

This is important so that a similar incident does not happen again. Meanwhile, the autopsy of the deceased victim is still carried out to confirm the injury and the motive for murder.

"The team is already in Patani which is directly led by the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Central Halmahera Police," he said.
