Gerindra Says There Has Been No Communication Regarding The Determination Of Ministers From Prabowo

JAKARTA - The daily chairman of the Gerindra Party DPP, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, said that the General Chairperson and President-elect for the 2024-2029 period Prabowo Subianto had not yet discussed the matter of determining the minister within the party.

This was conveyed by Dasco in response to reports that Prabowo would announce the composition of his cabinet on October 21, 2024. One day after he was sworn in as president.

"For us, so far we have not been invited to communicate regarding the date of determining the minister or the cabinet announcement," said Dasco, Tuesday, August 6.

When asked about the names of ministers from the Gerindra Party, Dasco was reluctant to comment.

So far, only Gerindra General Treasurer Thomas Djiwandono has been named as a candidate for finance minister in the Prabowo-Gibran era. Thomas himself was just appointed by President Jokowi as Deputy Minister of Finance to accompany Sri Mulyani.

According to Dasco, until now his party is still calculating the cabinet according to existing needs, especially how to optimize the ministry's function which is adjusted to Prabowo-Gibran's campaign promise.

"In that number, how much has not been fixed. It also depends on the availability of the budget, availability of supporting facilities such as ASN, finance, and buildings," said Dasco.
