MATARAM - Mataram City Police, West Nusa Tenggara, arrested a father with the initials MJS (38) on suspicion of having sex with his biological daughter since he was in junior high school (SMP). Head of the Mataram Police Satreskrim Kompol I Made Yogi Purusa Utama said that the arrest of MJS was a follow-up to the report of the victim's biological mother with the initials SR (35). "So, from the results of the testimony of the victim and witnesses and the post-mortem of the victim, we arrested the person concerned (MJS) this afternoon at around 13.00 WITA at his house without a fight," said Yogi in Mataram, Antara, Sunday, August 4. The alleged perpetrator has confessed to his actions of having sex with his biological daughter since 2021. "He admitted the last incident (MJS) on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at around 22.00 WITA. At that time the reporter was staying at his parents' house," he said. Kompol Yogi emphasized that his party is now processing MJS' law by referring to Article 81 paragraph (1) and paragraph (3) in conjunction with Article 76 D or Article 82 paragraph (1) and paragraph (2) jo. Article 76 E of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 35 of 2014 concerning Amendments to Law no. 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection jo. RI Law No. 17/2016 concerning Stipulation of Perpu No. 1/2016 concerning the Second Amendment to Law no. 23/2002 concerning Child Protection into Law.

"So, we are still securing the person concerned (MJS) along with evidence for further investigation purposes," he said.
