Gus Yahya Is Advised By PKB Politicians: Don't Kerdilkan Kerja Pansus Hajj DPR, Later The Public Will Be More Negative To PBNU

JAKARTA - Member of the DPR from the PKB faction Luluk Nur Hamidah warned the chairman of PBNU Yahya Cholil Staquf (Gus Yahya) not to accuse the formation of the Hajj Anggaket Special Committee to attack PBNU, especially the Minister of Religion, Yaqut Cholil Qoumas (Gus Yaqut).

According to Luluk, Gus Yahya underestimated all factions of the DPR who proposed and approved the Hajj Special Committee.

According to him, it would be impossible if PKB affected all factions in the DPR just because of the personal revenge of the PKB Chairman, Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) to the Minister of Religion. Although Cak Imin has his capacity as deputy chairman of the DPR.

Luluk explained that the Hajj Special Committee was formed to defend the rights of Indonesian pilgrims, especially regular pilgrims who have been queuing for a long time and for years by saving little by little.

For the Special Committee for Hajj Countermeasures, the transfer of quotas of 8,400 special hajjes is a violation of the laws, violations of the agreement between the DPR and the Ministry of Religion, and also the expansion of Presidential Decree No. 6 of 2024.

"For us, the transfer of the regular hajj quota to a special pilgrimage that exceeds the provisions of the law and agreements is an act that actually injures the sense of justice and humanity, which is the ethical basis for public officials," said Luluk, Monday, July 29.

"We regret the politicization of the Hajj Special Committee solely for the personal affairs of Gus Muhaimin and the Minister of Religion as conveyed by the general chairman of PBNU," he added.

Moreover, Luluk continued, indications of rent, gratification or other things that injure the implementation of the 2024 Hajj need to be investigated further.

The PKB legislator for the Central Java electoral district said that the Hajj Special Committee is the constitutional right of the DPR and is part of the function of checks and balances to investigate alleged violations of laws and policies that have an impact on the wider community.

Luluk believes that the Indonesian people will take sides with the DPR's work and provide moral support to the Hajj Special Committee.

"Even the Kyai and the leaders of Islamic boarding schools in many regions provide support to us," he claimed.

Luluk continued, PBNU should side with the sense of justice and public virtue and together find the best way for the improvement of Hajj organizing in the future.

"Don't let our work at the Hajj Special Committee be dwarfed, later the public will be more negative towards PBNU," Luluk reminded.
