BADUNG - The consignments of garbage again invaded Kuta Beach, in Badung Regency, Bali. The total reaches 50 tons of organic and inorganic waste.

"We cleaned it this morning and tomorrow we also don't know (whether there is anything else)", said Gede Dwipayana as Coordinator of the DLHK Badung Quick Reaction Unit when contacted, Monday, March 22.

The rubbish that was sent ranged from wooden twigs to plastic. Junk shipments occurred from Saturday, March 20 to Sunday, March 21.

"If nothing appeared earlier but the remaining trash was still being cleaned on Saturday and Sunday. About 25 trucks that total 50 tons, one truck is 2 tons", he added.

The officers and volunteers successfully cleaned up the rubbish. The cleaning was carried out by the Badung DLHK officers and several communities.

"For mixed waste, 60 percent is organic and 40 percent inorganic", he explained.

The remittances are said to come from rivers in the area. This trash is carried by the waves scattered on the shores of Kuta Beach.

"Normally it is usually in April. But this can not be predicted because it has changed considerably. But this has started to decrease in intensity than last December (2020). It is likely from the river, yes, because the west wind blows to the east", said Dwipayana.
