The KPK Search Continued At The Semarang Fire Department, Ade Bhakti Said That Employees Had Been Gathered

The search carried out by investigators from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) related to allegations of corruption within the Semarang City Government continues at the Fire Service (Damkar) office.

KPK investigators visited the Semarang City Fire Department Office, whose address is Madukoro Raya Street Number 6, Semarang, Thursday, July 25, at around 08.30 WIB.

The search lasted for 6.5 hours, KPK investigators left the Semarang City Fire Service Office at around 15.00 WIB.

Before leaving the Fire Department, KPK investigators were seen carrying three suitcases and putting them in the trunk of the car, after which they got out in four cars together.

Meanwhile, the Secretary of the Semarang City Fire Department, Ade Bhakti, confirmed the investigation and search carried out by KPK investigators.

He said KPK investigators asked for information from the leadership ranks at the service, including him regarding the procurement of goods and services in 2023-2024.

In fact, he said, KPK investigators also had time to collect the cellphones of the employees responsible for financial and administrative planning.

However, he ensured that public services at the Semarang City Fire Department would continue as usual, including the formation of firefighters.

"(Service, ed) As usual. Earlier there was the formation of a Central Semarang fire volunteer, then the administration also took place normally," he said.

It is known that KPK investigators searched a number of regional apparatus agencies and organizations (OPD) within the Semarang City Government, since last Wednesday (17/7).

The search was carried out by KPK investigators at a number of OPD offices of the Semarang City Government, both in the City Hall complex and the Pandanaran building.

Not only searching, KPK investigators also asked for information from a number of OPD leaders of the Semarang City Government.

The KPK stated that the search was related to the handling of three cases of alleged corruption within the Semarang City Government.

The three alleged corruption cases include the procurement of goods and services within the Semarang City Government in 2023 - 2024, the alleged extortion of civil servants for incentives for collecting taxes and levies in the Semarang City area, as well as the alleged receipt of gratuities in 2023 - 2024.

KPK investigators have also named a number of parties as suspects in the case. However, it has not provided further information regarding the identities of the parties.

KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika Sugiarto said four people had been prevented from traveling abroad in connection with the investigation of the alleged corruption case.

The four people who were prohibited from traveling abroad, consisting of two people came from state officials and the rest were private parties.
