Present in Oval Office as Husband Gives Speech, Jill Biden: Thanks for Supporting Joe, Time for Kamala

JAKARTA - First Lady Jill Biden appreciates and thanks the support given to her husband, saying that now is the time to give support to Kamala Harris.

Jill was present when her husband gave a speech from the Oval Office, White House on Wednesday evening local time, explaining his reasons for withdrawing from the US presidential election to be held in November.

Speaking from the Oval Office, White House, this was his first public appearance after being announced as infected with COVID-19 last week and withdrawing from the US Presidential Election in November.

"To those who never wavered, to those who refused to doubt, to those who always believed, my heart is full of gratitude," she said in a handwritten thank you note uploaded to social media, reported by CNN on July 25.

In addition, Jill Biden also gave implicit support to Vice President Kamala Harris.

"Thank you for the trust you have given Joe - now is the time to put that trust in Kamala. Love, Jill," she wrote.

After announcing his resignation last weekend, President Biden expressed his support for Vice President Kamala Harris.

For the past three and a half years, Jill Biden has been the president’s closest advocate and adviser, wielding her influence from the White House to the campaign trail.

The First Lady was not alone. Hunter Biden and several grandchildren were also present in the Oval Office, when President Biden delivered his speech.

Ashley Biden, the president's daughter, sat next to the First Lady. Several of the president's top advisers, including Mike Donilon and Steve Ricchetti, were also in the room.

Meanwhile, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre and Communications Director Ben LaBolt also watched from a monitor at the back of the room.
