JAKARTA - The Indonesia Development Monitoring (IDM) Survey Institute released the results of the latest survey related to the electability of prospective Pemalang regents, Central Java ahead of the November 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada).
As a result, incumbent Mansur Hidayat is still strong with an electability rate of 36.3 percent.
"Pemalang Mansur Regent Hidayat stands out as the candidate with the highest electability. In the simulation of the top of mind, Mansur Hidayat received support of 36.3 percent," said IDM Executive Director Heru Suyatno, in a survey release Monday, July 22.
Heru explained that Mansur's position was far behind his competitor Anom Widiyantoro, who had 17.6 percent electability and Agus Sukoco with 10.7 percent. Then Iskandar Ali Syahbana 6.2 percent, Istadi 5.1 percent, Nur Hidayat with 4.3 percent, Heri loyalwan 2.9 percent and Dwi Hartono 1.2 percent. Meanwhile, the names of other regent candidates were below 1 percent and Respondents did not choose to reach 10.6 percent.
Then, when the simulation closed 10 names, there was a significant increase in electability from a number of names. In the first position, Mansur Hidayat was still ahead with an electability of 40.3 percent. Followed by second position Anom Widiyantoro 18.3 percent and third place Agus Sukoco 14.2 percent.
Furthermore, Iskandar Ali Syahbana 7.2 percent, Herry Setiawan 3.2 percent, Istadi 2.1 percent, Dwi Hartono 1.8 percent, Budi Harmanto 1.4 percent, RM Nur Hidayat 1.1 percent, Slamet Effendi 1.1 percent, and did not vote 9.3 percent.
Then when the four regent candidates were simulated, Mansur Hidayat was also still in the first position with 47.7 percent electability. Followed in a row by Anom Widiyantoro 20.6 percent, Agus Sukoco 15.4 percent, Iskandar Ali Syahbana 8.1 percent, and respondents did not vote 8.2 percent.
"When the head-to-head simulation was carried out between Mansur Hidayat and Anom Widiyantoro, it was found that Mansur Hidayat's electability was 58.1 percent and Anom Widiyantoro's electability was 21.8 percent. Then Respondents did not choose 20.1 percent," explained Heru.
Likewise in head-to-head simulations between Mansur Hidayat and Agus Sukoco. The result, not much different.
"Mansur Hidayat's electability is 61.4 percent and Agus Sukoco's electability is 18.4 percent, while respondents do not vote by 20.2 percent," said Heru.
Regarding these results, IDM also conducted an evaluation survey of the performance of the incumbent regent Mansur Hidayat. The results stated that they were very satisfied or quite satisfied 87.6 percent and 10.7 percent said they were not satisfied/not satisfied at all. Respondents did not answer by 1.7 percent.
"From the survey results, it can be concluded that the majority of Pemalang people want Mansur Hidayat to return to lead Pemalang Regency," concluded Heru.
The IDM survey was conducted in the period 5-15 July 2024 involving around 1,780 respondents who met the criteria of voters in Pemalang Regency.
