The Bogor Police Sector stated that the pickup driver was negligent when he was running a vehicle in Gunung Mesan Village, Cibungbulang, Bogor Regency, West Java, killing a three-year-old child. "The vehicle involved in this accident is in a roadworthy condition and the road and weather factors do not support the accident. The driver is suspected of being negligent," said Cibungbulang Police Chief Kompol Zulkarnedi in a statement in Bogor, Sunday, July 21. He explained that the victim MHB (3) died on Sunday, although he had received medical treatment at the Leuwiliang Regional General Hospital (RSUD). The accident occurred last Saturday, involving the Daihatsu Grandmax pickup and a child MHB pedestrian on Jalan Alternative Gunung Mengan-Cikoan at 15.00 WIB. At that time, the pickup truck with the police number F 8528 MB driven by N (33) was traveling from Cikoan to Gunung Menyan. While at the location of the incident that was up and down, the pickup vehicle hit MHB which was running. Zulkarnedi explained, based on the testimony of witness Indah Rumyanah (43) who was at the scene, the driver was unable to control his vehicle so that he hit the victim and fell and hit the front tire of the right pickup. "MHB suffered serious head injuries and was immediately rushed to Leuwiliang Hospital, but unfortunately his life could not be saved," said Zulkarnedi. He said the results of a temporary investigation conducted by the police showed that the cause of the accident was due to the negligence of the driver who was unable to prioritize pedestrians. Police officers from Subunit Gakkum Dramaga who arrived at the location at that time immediately took action to secure evidence and examine witnesses.

"The material loss in this accident is estimated at IDR 500 thousand," said Zulkarnedi.
