JAKARTA - A Russian attack on Ukraine's frontline region in Donetsk killed five civilians and injured three others. Russian attacks damaged private homes and a residential building.

A woman and her husband died in artillery fire in Pleshchiivka village, the public prosecutor's office said via Telegram.

"Three other women were killed in attacks on residential buildings in the village of Hrodivka," he added.

Separately, the Russian military dropped two guided bombs in the village of Velyka Novosilka, wounding a man and his wife inside their home, prosecutors said.

Another man was injured in an artillery strike in the city of Zalizne.

The Donetsk region, which is partly occupied by Russian troops, is often the target of Russian airstrikes and shootings.

Moscow denies targeting civilians or civilian infrastructure in its invasion of Ukraine, although thousands have been killed and injured in the attack.
