Jusuf Hamka Admits He Is Ready To Accompany Kaesang Forward Jakarta Gubernatorial Election

Jusuf Hamka Among The Chairman Of The Golkar Party Airlangga Hartarto And PSI Chairman Kaesang Pangarep (Special)

JAKARTA - Entrepreneur and Golkar Party politician Mohammad Jusuf Hamka admitted that he was ready if he was juxtaposed with the youngest son of President Joko Widodo Kaesang Pangarep in the 2024 Jakarta Governor and Deputy Governor Election (Pilgub Jakarta).

This was revealed directly by Jusuf Hamka to the media crew during a visit to the residence of former Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD in the Patra Kuningan area, Setiabudi, South Jakarta, last Monday.

Jusuf Hamka said he was ready if the Golkar Party was assigned to accompany Kaesang, who is also the general chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party, in the Jakarta gubernatorial election.

Jusuf Hamka said he did not know if his name was discussed in the meeting between the General Chairperson of the Golkar Party Airlangga Hartarto and Kaesang Pangarep regarding the Jakarta gubernatorial election.

Jusuf confirmed that he would follow the decision of the General Chairperson of the Golkar Party who had offered his name to PSI to participate in the Jakarta gubernatorial election.

Even though he was quite far apart from Kaesang, Jusuf admitted that he had no problem if he was assigned to accompany a politician who was much younger than himself. However, he admitted that the discussion was still only a discourse.

"If this is an order, I have to implement it. If people need logistics, I have never promised logistics to the people, but welfare is better. Schools are free. I have done free transportation and provide free meals," said Jusuf Hamka.

Previously, Airlangga Hartarto met with Kaesang Pangarep at the Golkar Central Leadership Council office in Slipi, West Jakarta, last Thursday (11/7/2024). Airlangga said his party was preparing businessman Jusuf Hamka to accompany Kaesang Pangarep to run in the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election.
