Update On COVID-19 As Of March 19: New Cases Of 6,279, Healing, Increasing 6,007

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 73,460 specimens were examined with the results of 6,279 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 1,450,132 people and 131,828 active cases," the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Friday, March 19.

Today, there are an increase of 6,007 cases recovered, so that a total of 1,278,965 people recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases that died increased by 197 people and the total was 39,339 people.

The province with the most new cases is in DKI Jakarta with 1,588 cases and a total of 367,007 cases. Followed by West Java which has 1,361 new cases with a total of 238,612 cases. Central Java has 611 new cases and a total of 164,071 cases. Then, Banten has 324 new cases and a total of 34,156 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1,173 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 957 recovered cases, Central Java with an increase of 855 recovered cases, and Banten with an increase of 545 recovered cases.

No province reported having no new cases as of today. Provinces reporting new cases under 10 are Southeast Sulawesi, Maluku and Gorontalo.

In addition, the number of specimens that had been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigen reached 11,944,657.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or the positivity rate today amounted to 19.78 percent," he wrote.

For the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 59,564 people. Currently, 510 districts / cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.

Currently there are 4,959,063 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 2,068,400 vaccines for the second dose. Meanwhile, the total vaccination targets reached 40,349,051 people.
