Women's Chronology In Purworejo Dies, After Experiencing Husband's Domestic Violence

PURWOREJO - A woman with the initials H (28), a resident of Kertosari Village, Bener District, Purworejo Regency, Central Java died because she was suspected of experiencing domestic violence (KDRT) by her own husband on Saturday, July 13, 2024.

R (35), the husband of the victim who is the suspected perpetrator, has now been arrested by the police. The residents shouted at R because they were furious.

Based on the chronology of the incident, victim H, who lives with her husband and two children in Puguh Hamlet RT 03 RT 02 Ketosari Village, previously experienced domestic violence by her husband R at her home on Friday night.

The victim, who could not stand the treatment of her husband, secretly left the house on Saturday morning at around 01.30 WIB to the relative's residence, which is about 200 meters from the victim's house.

"He (H) at around 01.30 he knocked on the door while crying, suddenly he was weak in entering the house (scarking)," said Sri Inah (42), a relative of the victim when met at his residence on Sunday, July 14.

Sri Inah said, H came in a weak condition and looked like a scared oang. When asked why, the victim only answered that he had been tortured and had pain in the neck and waist.

"When I asked him, he said that he had been tortured by his husband, he said he was so sick, he was sick here and here while holding his neck and waist," he explained.

Not long after, the victim continued to cry in pain and roll over on the floor until he was unconscious. Sunaryo, Sri Inah's husband, asked local residents and hamlets for help.

"He told me to turn it off, I was not allowed to accompany him, I was afraid that her husband would come here. I had asked to be taken home to his parents' house, when my father just took out the motorbike, he was not aware, rolled around," he continued.

Arifudin, who is the head of the local hamlet, revealed that he was contacted by residents when there were screams. Seeing the condition of the victim who was critical, his party then went to the victim's husband and asked to see the condition of the victim. His party also immediately contacted the victim's parents.

"At 04.30, some residents came here saying someone was screaming, then I immediately came to the source of the screams, at Pak Sunaryo's house," said Arifudin.

Due to worsening conditions, his party together with the local village head finally took the victim to the hospital until finally the victim was declared dead on Saturday, July 13 at around 08.00 WIB.

"When I got there, the victim was unconscious. Then I called the village head to take him to the hospital at RSI Purworejo," he said.

After being taken back to the funeral home, the victim will be buried. However, the family finally reported the incident to the police. The victim was taken to the TjitroWardojo Hospital for an autopsy. The victim was then taken to the victim's parents' house and buried at the Watugeng TPU, Sukowuluh Village, Bener District on Sunday morning.

"Had been brought home, but then the family asked for an autopsy at the TjitroWardojo Hospital, this morning he was buried at his parents' place," he said.

The case is currently being handled by the Purworejo Police. However, until now the police have not been able to provide an official statement regarding the chronology of the incident or the results of the examination of the victim.
