JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya arrested 15 commercial sex workers who were still minors when they raided the Alona Hotel owned by artist Cynthiara Alona on Tuesday, March 16.

"There are 15 victims, all minors who average 14, 15, 16 years," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol Yusri Yunus during a press conference at the Jakarta Metro Police Headquarters, reported by Antara, Friday, March 19.

Yusri explained, there are many methods used by pimps to trap these underage children into commercial sex workers (CSWs), including being courted and offered jobs.

"How do you recruit him? Some are courted, some are offered jobs so that these underage victims want to do it," he said.

Yusri said that the 15 children had been entrusted to P2TP2A and Handayani Care for psychological assistance and trauma healing.

Polda Metro Jaya on Tuesday, March 16 at around 23.30 WIB raided the Alona Hotel in Kreo, Tangerang City, because it was suspected of providing prostitution services.

In the raid, the police secured a total of 43 people, but only three people were named as suspects.

The first suspect is Cynthiara himself for his role as hotel owner and knowing about the practice of prostitution in his hotel.

Meanwhile, the second suspect is DA who plays the role of pimp and AA for his role as hotel manager who knows about the practice of prostitution.

The three suspects have been officially detained by the police to be accountable for their actions.
