KPK Investigate Project Auction Process Related To Alleged Corruption In Port Flow Dredging

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating the auction process for the port dredging project, which ends up being corrupted. Nine witnesses were examined on Wednesday, July 10.

"Investigators generally dig into the auction process at the dredging project at the Harbormaster Office and Port Authority," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika to reporters in a written statement, Thursday, July 11.

Tessa detailed that the nine people being questioned were former Head of KSOP Benoa Amiruddin; finance employee of PT China Harbor Indonesia, Dwiyanti Somatanya; former Head of KSOP Class II Benoa Guritno; and former Head of Technical Planning and Reclamation Program Section Gus Rional.

Then also examined by the former Head of Planning at the Secretariat of the Directorate General of Sea Transportation at the Ministry of Transportation Lollan Panjaitan; former Inspector III of the Ministry of Transportation Edward Marpaung; Legal Manager of PT China Harbor Indonesia, Rahmat Salim; Director of PT Karya Bayu Abadi Lines, Roedie Widjaja; and former Head of KSOP Class II Benoa Supriyono.

However, Dwiyanti His address, Gus Rional, and Roedi Widjaja were not present. Tessa said they had conveyed their reasons to investigators and asked for a reschedule.

Previously reported, the KPK conducted a new investigation into allegations of corruption in the work package for dredging shipping lanes at several ports in Indonesia. Nine people have been named as suspects.

The alleged corruption occurred between 2013 and 2017 at a number of ports. This familiar practice is said by the anti-corruption commission to occur in Tanjung Mas, Samarinda, Benoa, and Pulang Pisau.
