Dozens Of Boys In Purwakarta Become Victims Of Sexual Violence By Neighbors

Dozens of boys in Campaka District, Purwakarta, West Java, were victims of sexual violence by a young man who was his neighbor.

To smooth out the action, the perpetrator named Asep Dian alias Keling (32) lured the victims with money or quota to play games. The victims are on average 5 to 9 years old

According to residents' testimonies, the perpetrator's sexual violence had been going on for about 2 years, but it was only revealed a few weeks ago after one of the children spoke to his parents. After the action was discovered by the residents and the parents of the victim, Keling immediately left his house.

According to Campaka Village Head Yayan Sahrodi, Keling actors actually live in poverty, and have even experienced sexual violence as a child.

"The perpetrator from birth did not know his father and from a poor family. The perpetrator also became a victim during elementary school," said Yayan Sahrodi, Tuesday, July 9.

In carrying out the action, the perpetrator usually invites the children to gather at his house because at this time the perpetrator only lives alone after being left by his mother 3 months ago. At the house, the perpetrator lured the victims with Rp. 5,000 to Rp. 20,000. The perpetrators also threatened the victims not to talk to their parents.

The case is currently being handled by the Women and Children Service Unit (PPA) of the Purwakarta Police, West Java.
