DG Hubdat Conducts Community Empowerment Through Labor Intensive Programs

SIDOARJO - The Directorate General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation is holding a Labor Intensive Program at the Trosobo Motor Vehicle Weighing Implementing Unit (UPPKB), Sidoarjo, East Java. This activity was carried out as an effort to restore the national economy during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"This Intensive Work is to carry out the mandate of the Minister of Transportation. This is also a direction from the President, because during the Covid-19 pandemic, many people had difficulty finding livelihoods. At a minimum, this cash for work program through maintenance activities involving the surrounding community will be very helpful, ”said Director General Budi in his official statement, Wednesday, March 17.

This Labor Intensive Program is one of the follow-ups to the direction of the President of the Republic of Indonesia regarding national economic recovery. In this labor-intensive activity involving 75 people, especially the community around the UPPKB Trosobo, Sidoarjo, Director General Budi hopes that the benefits of this cash-for-work program can truly be felt directly by the community.

"I appreciate BPTD Region XI of East Java Province for holding solid work activities at UPPKB Trosobo. In the work-intensive workforce, the job does not require special skills so that anyone can do it, ”said Director General Budi.

In line with Director General Budi, Head of Land Transportation Management Agency (BPTD) Region XI of East Java Province, Tonny Agus Setiono hopes that this Solid Work activity will foster togetherness, mutual cooperation, and community participation and improve the quality of community empowerment.

“Labor Intensive Activities at BPTD Region XI in 2021 total 60 activities with a total workforce of 8,629 people. Participants who take part in this Solid Work activity come from the community around the UPPKB Trosobo and the activity will be held in the next 3 days until March 19, namely painting the tidiness of the garden and grass, "explained Tonny.
