Jokowi Asks BPK To Participate In The Transition Process Of Substitution Of Government

President Jokowi at the Submission of the Report on the Results of the Examination of the Central Government Financial Report (LHP LKPP) for Fiscal Year 2023 at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Jakarta, Monday (8/7/2024).

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) hopes that the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) will also support the transitional government process to the elected president and vice president as a result of the 2024 presidential election Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka to run well.

"Currently, we are in the era of transition of government. In October 2024, I will be replaced by the elected president Mr. Prabowo Subianto. I expect the support of the BPK and all components of the nation to support the transition of this government to run well," said the President in his remarks at the Submission of the Report on the Audit Results of the Central Government Financial Report (LHP LKPP) for Fiscal Year 2023 at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Jakarta, Monday 8 July.

The President said the support was needed to maintain sustainability in bringing progress to the country of Indonesia.

In addition, the President also hopes for BPK's support to continue improving the government ecosystem, building an accountable government system as well as being flexible and always result-oriented.

The President believes that the current government and the next government will always pay serious attention to BPK's recommendations so that people's money can be utilized properly and managed in a transparent and accountable manner.

"I ask the ministers, heads of institutions, and regional heads to immediately follow up and complete recommendations from the BPK examination so that our financial management, APBN and APBD will increase day by day, the better the year," said the President.

It is known, BPK provides an unqualified opinion (WTP) on the 2023 Central Government Financial Report (LKPP) and the 2023 Semester II Examination Results Summary.

This opinion is the eighth WTP opinion since LKPP was won in 2016.

"The results of the BPK examination of LKPP in 2023 show an Unqualified Opinion," said BPK Chairman Isma Yatun at the submission of the Examination Result Report (LHP) on LKPP in 2023 and the Summary of Semester II Examination Results in 2023 to President Jokowi at JCC, Jakarta, Monday.

Inclusive and quality examinations are expected to provide confidence for stakeholders in the management and responsibility of state finances as a strong capital in the journey of development towards Indonesia Gold 2045.

LKPP 2023 is the responsibility of the 2023 State Budget (APBN) which is composed of one State General Treasurer Financial Report (LKBUN) and 84 Ministry/Institutional Financial Reports (LKKL).

The provision of opinions by the BPK is stated to be in accordance with standards that ensure that the examination is carried out by maintaining the basic values of integrity, independence, and professionalism of the BPK, as well as providing benefits.
