Ministry Of Energy And Mineral Resources Officials Targeted By KPK Regarding Gas Supply

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has examined the Coordinator for the Preparation of the Ministry of Energy Mineral Energy Migas Program (ESDM) Rizal Fajar Muttaqin. There are a number of things that are explored, including the gas supply.

"The examination of witnesses in the alleged corruption case in the procurement of LNG at Pertamina is for deepening the Indonesian gas balance and supply of domestic gas allocation," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika, quoted on Saturday, July 6.

Tessa said investigators were also questioning Bayu Satria Pratama, the 2006-2014 Oil and Gas Strategic Reserve Program analyst with the same thing. The examination was carried out on Thursday, July 4.

Previously reported, the KPK named two suspects in connection with the development of the LNG procurement corruption case at PT Pertamina (Persero). They are Senior Vice President (SPV) Gas and Power Pertamina 2013-2014, Yenni Andayani and Hari Karyulianto who are Directors of Gas Pertamina 2012-2014.

Both of them were Karen's subordinates while serving as President Director (Director) of PT Pertamina (Persero). In addition, they got power from Karen to sign a sale and purchase agreement or sales purchase agreement (SPA) LNG Train 1 and Train 2 from a subsidiary of Cheniere Energy, Inc., Corpus Christie Liquefaction, LCC or CCL.

As for this case, former President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) Karen Agustiawan was sentenced to 11 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 1 billion, subsidiary to 6 months in prison. She was also asked to pay compensation of Rp. 1.09 billion and 104 thousand US dollars, a subsidiary union of 2 years in prison. Meanwhile, the Jakarta Corruption Court Panel of Judges sentenced him to 9 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 500 million, subsidiary to 3 months in prison. Karen violated Article 2 paragraph (1) of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended and added to Law Number 20 of 2001 in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 64 Paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code. Against this decision, the anti-corruption commission then filed an appeal. They want Karen to pay replacement money.
