Revealed! Dozens Of East Java Terrorists Have Been Practicing On Mount Bromo, Ready To Spread Terror And Attack Police Members

JAKARTA - The National Police said 22 suspected terrorists who were arrested in East Java had already held a training to spread acts of terror. They practice around the Mount Bromo area.

"In the investigation of Densus 88 Anti-terror colleagues, this group has conducted training in East Java around Mount Bromo", said Head of Public Information Bureau, National Police Public Relations Division Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono, Thursday, March 18.

This group is also said to have planned acts of terror. But there was no explicit mention of the location included in their plan. So far, Rusdi has only mentioned that the group that is part of the Jamaah Islamiyah (JI) network has targeted members of the National Police.

"One of the targets is the security apparatus, especially members of the National Police who are on duty in the field", said the General.

To that end, Rusdi asked the public to participate in eradicating terrorism by providing information if he saw any suspicious activities.

This is because these terrorist groups often mingle with society. The goal is that their activities are not easily known.

"Of course we need to realize together, that these groups are still alive among us and of course we also understand that countermeasures against terrorism can not only be done completely by government officials, therefore Police of the Republic of Indonesia calls on public participation in the context of countering terrorism", he explained.

Previously reported, as many as 22 suspected terrorists who were arrested in the East Java region were transferred to Jakarta. They will be placed in the Terrorist Detention Center in Cikeas, Bogor, West Java.

"So the 22 suspects will be taken to the Cikeas detention center", said Rusdi.

Dozens of suspected terrorists belong to the Jamaah Islamiyah (JI) network. They were arrested in less than a week.

Even though they were part of the same network, they were arrested at different locations. There are at least six locations in the arrest of the suspected terrorist.

"Since February 26, 2021, until March 2, 2021, colleagues of the Densus 88 Anti-terror have carried out law enforcement against 22 suspects of the criminal act of terrorism in East Java", said Rusdi.
