New Axis Of PDIP With PKB, Puan Calls The Anies-Andika Duet Interesting

JAKARTA - PDIP DPP chairman Puan Maharani opened up opportunities for her party to form a new axis with PKB. This was said by Puan when responding to PKS which seemed to 'lock' the Anies Baswedan-Sohibul Iman pair for the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada.

"It could be (new poros) as long as it meets the existing quota. In the sense that the requirements and mechanisms are sufficient, not impossible, politics is dynamic," said Puan at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, July 4.

When asked about the opportunity for the Anies Baswedan-Andika Perkasa duet, Puan said, this couple is interesting to consider. "Interesting," said Puan while smiling. It is known that the Deputy Secretary General of PDIP Utut Adianto previously encouraged Andika Perkasa to run as a candidate for governor. However, for which area he will be nominated, it is still unknown. Puan also admitted that Andika's name was indeed one of the names considered by PDIP. According to him, Andika is suitable to run as a regional head both in Jakarta and in Central Java.

"Yes, one of the names that has now emerged, Mr. Andika, is one of the candidates that we will see later, it is good where we will candidate. Because this election is the person, the area is very different and cannot be then only one name in one area. So all of them have peculiarities and depend on where. (Jakarta or Central Java) It could be anywhere," said Puan.

The chairman of the DPR believes that Andika is also ready if asked to run in the 2024 Pilkada. However, Puan said that until now the PDIP DPP has not spoken about the eviction of Andika Perkasa as a cagub or cawagub.

"We haven't spoken directly at the DPP forum, but it seems ready," he concluded.
